A Season of Gratitude: Here’s What We’re Thankful For

Insights

By Brennan McCarthy, CFP®

When you’re caught up in the pressures of daily life, it’s easy to overlook all the good surrounding you. That’s why we believe in taking an approach of intentional gratitude. It’s never a bad time to reflect on what you have, but it’s especially appropriate during the Thanksgiving season.

Take a moment to share in our gratitude and reflect on the blessings of the past year. Here’s a quick look at what we’re most thankful for this year.

Good Health

Countless people take good health for granted until they fall ill or suffer an injury. This season we’re reflecting on our gratitude for health and well-being. We’re particularly thankful for the following:

Access to Quality Healthcare

Healthcare costs are rising at unprecedented rates. We’re thankful to have access to health insurance, as well as to providers of quality physical and mental healthcare.

A Healthy Lifestyle

Medical care is an important part of health, but it’s not all that matters. We’re grateful for our ability to eat a nutritious, balanced diet, engage in regular exercise, and otherwise live a healthy lifestyle.

Family and Friends

When most people think of gratitude, their first thoughts are of their loved ones. Whether you’re getting together with your closest family and friends this season or they’re half a world away, we hope you take a moment to cherish the connections that make life worthwhile.

The Opportunity to Give Back

As part of the Eden Prairie community, we strive to give back when we can. Philanthropy is part of that mission, but we also have gratitude for the opportunities to volunteer with local nonprofits.

Personal Growth and Life Experiences

Pursuing financial success is important, but our clients understand that dying with as much money as possible shouldn’t be the goal. If you’re like many of our clients, you have immense gratitude for the experiences you’ve gained throughout your life, such as:

  • Traveling to new destinations (both domestic and abroad)
  • Continuously learning
  • Pursuing your hobbies and passions

Whether you’re retired or still working, these kinds of experiences can enrich your life and offer a counterweight to life’s stresses and disappointments.

Life’s Small Joys

It’s natural enough to focus on life’s major blessings when you think about what you’re thankful for. However, we’ve found that when you also express gratitude for the little things, it’s easier to feel more satisfied with your life as a whole.

Here are some of the small joys our team members appreciate:

  • Sipping a hot cup of tea or coffee
  • Listening to a favorite song
  • Spending time in nature
  • Reading a good book
  • Sharing a laugh with loved ones
  • Enjoying a delicious meal at a restaurant (or making one at home)

If you ever find yourself overwhelmed or discouraged, take a moment to be grateful for a small blessing. It won’t erase your problems, but it can grant you valuable perspective.

The Privilege of Assisting Our Clients

Whether you’re starting a business, building a retirement plan, or balancing your investment portfolio, we’re here to help. You trust us with your hard-earned money, and that isn’t something we take lightly.

Each of our clients has unique financial goals, and we strive to build one-of-a-kind plans to support them. If we’ve played even a small role in your success, we’re deeply grateful.
